Open Positions

1. Awards & Liaison Officer

   • Introduces new, review existing awards

   • Build network of (senior) awards committee

   • Implement award review + selection procedures

   • Discussion with TVCG Editor-In-Chief for Journal Track and invited TVCG papers

   • Coordinate with TVCG liaison

   • Coordinate with other conferences in the field

2. Conference Coordination Officer

   • Works closely with the general chairs of the current conference.

   • Supports the conference organizers to set-up a proper conference committee

   • Provides and enforces a strict timeline for all activities related to setting up the conference (committee, venue, accommodation, …)

   • Cooperation with Finance Chair and Sponsors Chair and Marketing Chair for supporting the individual conference organizers

3. Sponsorship Officer

   • Work with outgoing and incoming conference sponsorship chairs

   • Built institutional memory about past sponsors

   • Work with Finance chair to set recommendations for Sponsorship pricing

   • Maintain relationships with potential sponsors

PLEASE NOTE: Open positions and roles are non-binding. In the case of internal applications and changes in responsibilities, the positions to be filled may still be subject to change.

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

• A strong track record of publications in Mixed and Augmented Reality or closely related fields (including Virtual Reality).

• Demonstrated engagement with the ISMAR or VR community through previous conference involvement or related activities.

• A clear commitment to advancing the field and contributing to the growth of the XR community.

Appointment Details

• The appointment is for a 3-year term, with the possibility to re-apply for another 3-year term.

• Applicants who cannot commit themselves for three years cannot be considered for appointment.

Application Process

Interested candidates are invited to submit a short CV indicating that they have already published and contributed to the ISMAR or VR community, as well as a letter of motivation of no more than one page, also indicating which tasks they would be willing to take on or whether they would be open to any position on the Steering Committee.

Besides self-nominations, the Steering Committee will also approach suitable candidates directly.

We would like to clarify that the existing members (in these or other positions) of the current Steering Committee can also apply for the open positions, as long as they have not yet been elected to positions twice in a row.

Deadline for Applications: July 31, 2025

Selection Process

• The SC will review all applications and make decisions on the new members within 4 weeks of the deadline.

• Selected members will begin their roles in Early October 2025.
